ABOUT THE ARTIST

Kylie Sams is an Australian abstract artist known for her expressive, intuitive approach to painting.

Her work is rich in energy, emotion and contrast - capturing raw feeling and movement through layered colour and dynamic mark-making. Guided by instinct her paintings speak to vulnerability, freedom, and the complexity of human experience.

A lifelong creative, Kylie brings a strong design sensibility to her practice, along with an openness to discovery. Her work moves freely between abstraction, landscape and botanical forms through a fluid and responsive process. She works predominantly in acrylics and has a particular love for painting on a large-scale.

Rooted in exploration, Kylie’s art practice is imaginative and evolving - often shifting through different techniques to push creative boundaries and keep the process alive. She finds liberation in abstraction and embraces the unknown as an essential part of her creative journey.

Kylie was born and raised in the Hunter Valley, NSW, and now lives and works in the Hawkesbury region on the outskirts of Sydney, Australia. Her original abstract paintings are held in private collections across Australia and internationally.
